The black pepper sizzling steak is authentic Taiwanese style and reminiscent of the Taiwan night markets black pepper sizzling steaks. It's hard to find stuff like this in the Bay Area. It was delicious, although I find that the knives struggled to cut the steak well on the sizzling plate. The beef stew noodle soup is a bit of an interesting case; I was not expecting the broth to have sweetness on both the clear and regular beef stew noodle soups. The thin noodles were too thin for my liking and seemed to break apart easily. Usually Taiwanese beef stew noodle broth is savory, the only exception is if they used a tomato base for the broth which would explain the sweetness. However it doesn't explain the sweetness for the clear broth beef stew noodle soup. I do feel that there isn't enough broth in the soups, as you finish your noodle soup it gets kind of sticky not sure how to explain this. The fried tofu was pretty good, the garlic soy sauce was a bit on the sweeter side compared to the traditional savory flavor that I'm accustomed to with these Taiwanese dishes. I recommend adding more garlic to the tofu dipping sauce. Overall, the service was great, the staff were very kind and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, it's definitely a small shop so support your local businesses and restaurants! It's rare to come across Taiwanese cuisine on this side of town so this was a pleasant experience and discovery. Typically I'd have to go to Cupertino / Sunnyvale / Milpitas / Fremont for Taiwanese cuisine. I was surprised to not see any fried rice options in the menu, maybe there will be a Satay Fried Rice on the menu in the future. I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. My party only ordered a total of four items (black pepper sizzling steak, beef stew noodle soup, clear broth beef stew noodle soup, and fried tofu) and it came out to around $72 which is pretty steep but... Maybe that's just the new trend with everything going up in prices. Nonetheless, I appreciate the hardworking staff and owner of this establishment.

This is the best Taiwanese night market food I have ever had. Its also the only Taiwanese night market food I have ever had. And now I want to go to Taiwan and visit the night markets. Everything I have ordered from here has been fantastic. The size and quality of the steak has differed slightly from time to time, but I have never been dissatisfied. The sizzling steak plate is really good. I prefer the pepper sauce to mushroom sauce, but sometimes I get combo.. The corn soup and noodles and egg are always great. They don't have any gluten free options (would be great if they offered a rice noodle) , so my wife can't eat here, but when I am dining solo its sort of my go to now. They are fast and efficient as well. the restaurant itself is small but tidy. I can't recommend this place enough, and looking forward to exploring the menu further.

My only minor issue is with the portion size—$9 for the crispy chicken feels a bit small for the price. That being said, the quality is excellent, and I always leave satisfied with the flavor and service.

I came across this restaurant on Instagram, and it suddenly made me nostalgic for Taiwanese steak, so I decided to give it a try. Honestly, the food doesn’t have the authentic Taiwanese flavor. For example, the black pepper sauce in Taiwan is usually packed with black pepper granules, and there’s noticeably more mushrooms in the mushroom sauce. While the night market-style steak was delicious, it lacked the spiciness of the pepper sauce and the sweetness of the mushroom sauce. Oh, and if they had mixed vegetables with corn, peas, and carrots, (三色豆)it would have been even more like the night market. The beef noodle soup had a tomato broth, which might be healthier since it seemed to use real tomatoes. The broth was a bit sour today, though. I’ll give it another try next time. Overall, just having night market steak here is something to celebrate. I’m really happy that I can enjoy this dish in the Bay Area. The corn soup that came with the meal didn’t have ham, but it still had that Taiwanese night market vibe.

The sizzling plate perfectly helped me with my nostalgia— it was the flavor of Taiwan for 100%. The portion of the noodles was pretty good, and the flavor of the sauce was great! The only thing I was a bit concerned was when the plate was served, they did not wait us to cover our clothes and phones with the napkins, so the hot plate made the sauce spread all around.
